Messaging query.
Okay, so question for Ced, and anyone else who uses a multiprotocol IM app (such as Trillian):

Which one do you reccomend, and why?

on windows? Trillian.

on mac? Adium.

Why? They're multiprotocol/multiservice and aren't advertiser-supported. Need I say more?

Right now I'm comparing Trillian with Miranda. (I use Windows, apparently.)

I heard some great things about Trillian when it first came out, but I haven't heard anything about it in a while. I see that they're beta-testing their Trillian Astra, and it looks good. I just know there are some people on my flist who have tried services other than Trillian for Windows, and I wondered if it was still the better option.

Also, how does compatability compare between Trillian 3 and Trillian Pro?

Not sure - haven't used Trillian in ages, unfortunately. I'm Adium-on-Mac guy here.

I'm gonna say Trillian, but that's only because Trillian is what I use and I've never tried anything else. I use an older version of Trillian as well, because I don't like the newer stuff.

I pretty much only use Pidgin, it's multi-protocol (I used it for AIM, Yahoo, and MSN). I mainly use it because it's on Linux, but it works for Mac and Windows too. ^^ http://pidgin.im
